SPECIALITY ENGINE & DRIVELINE REBUILDS
Every mechanic at Bonner Engineering has always been first and foremost a skilled machinist with a keen appreciation of precision engineering.
We build an engine first with a micrometer and only then with a spanner. We create an engine build sheet and record all relevant dimensions of the engine, calculated clearances, and compare them against the its and limits we would require. If a dimension is out of limits, we do something about it.
A large amount of building an engine is done in the machine shop. When the engine is finished, the build sheet says so.
The completed engine is then installed on our dynamometer, carefully run in under partial load and moderate speed for 4-5 hours, and then power tested all the way up the rev range. Fuel and ignition settings are optimised. Any defects are dealt with, and the engine can then be handed over as a completely known quantity, ready for reliable service.
